EPC — Engineering, Procurement & Construction / Operation and Maintenance
The project involved providing shore power connections for container ships to reduce their use of onboard engines while in port. The work included installing electrical conduits, medium-voltage lines, transformer substations, shore power equipment, and a cable management system (CMS), as well as replacing dock fenders.
The OPS substation will allow ships to shut down their auxiliary engines while docked, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The project will provide two shore power connection points, each with its own cable management system. Each connection will be capable of supplying up to 7.5 MVA to a single ship. When two ships are docked and drawing power at the same time, the system will be able to supply up to 5 MVA to each vessel simultaneously.
