Reliable, Efficient Power to Support Petén’s Development
As part of Innova Energy’s project in Petén, Guatemala, SAMPOL completed the construction and comprehensive validation of a new 45 MW gas-fired power plant designed to improve the continuity and quality of the region’s electricity supply.
The facility consists of five 9 MW Bergen Engines units, a robust configuration that combines operational reliability, flexible response, and energy efficiency. Testing and commissioning successfully verified the performance of all critical systems, including power generation, alternators, lubrication, high- and low-temperature cooling, starting air, ventilation, exhaust, fuel treatment, electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and protection systems.
Advanced Technology for a More Secure, Stable, and Sustainable Power Supply
This project reinforces SAMPOL’s ability to deliver high-performance energy infrastructure in demanding environments while meeting technical standards at every stage: engineering, construction, systems integration, and acceptance testing. In addition to directly improving the reliability of Petén’s electrical grid, the plant supports the energy transition through more efficient operation and an estimated reduction in carbon emissions of more than 150,000 metric tons.
